Jason Weiland Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is part of the North Central Technical College Foundation, a 501c3 organization. In our first 2 years we have raised enough money to have the scholarship become endowed - making it a permanent part of the foundation. Our fundraising goal is to raise enough money for the scholarship to provide a deserving 2nd year Criminal Justice student a full semester's tuition every year in perpetuity. 85-90% of donated funds will be funneled directly into the scholarship fund until we reach that goal. As the Foundation is a 501c3 tax-exempt entity, tax documentation can be provided upon request.
Crossroads K9's for Cops
For 2019, our second charity is Crossroads K9's for Cops. Jay's Ride will donate at least 10% of available funds to this worthy cause in 2019.
Information on the program (taken from www.crossroadsk9rescue.org/k-9sforcops):
The Crossroads K-9s for Cops program was started with the intent to equip Wisconsin police departments with one of the most vital resources that can be found in a department's tool box.
Crossroads K-9s for Cops was formed in memory of fallen Everest Metro Police Detective, Jason Weiland.
A police K-9 personifies Jason’s philosophy of proactive policing and fierce dedication to those he served with.
This program is a tribute to his life, service to his community, and passion for law enforcement.
The addition of a K-9 directly benefits our communities by deterring crime, locating missing persons, and apprehending violent suspects with less than lethal force.
This year’s goal is to provide a complete K-9 package to this community-focused department, at little, to no cost to the department or tax payer.
Together, we can assist Wisconsin police departments with the acquisition of one of the most vital resources available to law enforcement and our communities.
Disclosure - Jay's Ride will donate 93-95% of all proceeds from the event. 5-7% will be held to fund ongoing expenses from year to year.
